Welcome!

Vicki Kerkvliet hails from a rich lineage of quilting enthusiasts, and her personal voyage into the world of quilting commenced in the year 2000 when she enrolled in an introductory quilting course. Balancing her role as an elementary school teacher, she ambitiously set a goal for herself: to complete one quilt top annually, all while fulfilling her teaching commitments.

In 2011, Vicki’s dream of acquiring a longarm quilting machine materialized when she invested in an HQ Avanté® equipped with the Pro-Stitcher® system. Presently, she dedicates her quilting skills to serving both clients and her personal projects on an HQ Amara® with Pro-Stitcher®. After a dedicated career spanning 27 years in elementary education, she embarked on an exciting new chapter by joining the Handi Quilter education team. This transition allows her to unite her passion for teaching with her love for quilting in a fresh professional journey. In her current role as educator coordinator, Vicki excels at putting novice quilters at ease and encouraging seasoned quilters to relish their quilting odyssey while exploring innovative avenues.

Beyond her professional pursuits, Vicki actively participates in the Starlight Quilters Guild in Kansas City. She is a proud mother of two grown sons and relishes traveling alongside her husband to explore the wonders of national parks.
